Eu:SrI2 Scintillator Crystal —A scintillation with highlight output and excellent energy resolution
Efficient radiation detectors must be able to distinguish between different radioactive sources and for gamma-ray detection, scintillator materials with high energy resolution, high light yield, and a short decay time are required. Compared to traditional scintillation crystal materials, Eu:SrI2 crystal has a higher light yield and better energy resolution. In addition, Eu:SrI2 crystal has lower hygroscopicity and can be stored in an environment with low water content with stable characteristics indefinitely. The emission wavelength of Eu:SrI2 crystal is between 400-500 nm, which matches well with the mainstream PMT spectral sensitive region that is beneficial for the detection of scintillation photons. At the same time, Eu:SrI2 crystal is not sensitive to changes in ambient temperature which will make its application scene more extensive, such as Gamma ray spectroscopy, elemental isotope screening and scintillation detectors for safety inspection equipment, in industrial and medical CT, ultra-high resolution X-ray imaging, etc.
